Just got back from seeing Catching Fire - SPOILER FREE.
I don’t even know what to write.. It surpassed ALL my expectations and blew me away! They took so many lines directly from the book! Not to mention they hardly left anything out.. this movie had EVERYTHING. The CGI was so much better this time around, fucking fantastic. The actors and actresses were soooooooo flawless. I love, love, loVED Finnick and Johanna! Omg. Plus the beautiful beautiful Everlark moments. So many freaking feels (especially at a certain train moment & beach moment). 90% of this movie I spent on the EDGE of my seat. So well done.. so freaking well done. I was about 30mins into the damn movie when I turned to my boyfriend and said I need to see this again.. like now- and the movie wasn’t even half over yet <3 Plus the movie was so much more real this time.. I mean the first one was dark, but this one is so much darker. The times that you tear up in this film.. ahhhhh
Thank you Francis Lawrence and the rest of the cast and crew! You people deserve a standing ovation. This movie was one of the greatest movies I’ve seen in a long time. I’ll be counting down the minutes till Thursday when I can watch it all again!
Also- Subway was so awesome with the VIP treatment and gift cards! Shout out to Subway “where the victors eat” lmao
Strange things did happen here.. No stranger would it be..
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree. (x)
"What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again.”
Just got this done today! This was taken right after it was done- hence the redness and darkness of the dandelion!
Peeta and I sit on the damp sand, facing away from each other, my right shoulder and hip pressed against his. I watch the water as he watches the jungle, which is better for me. I’m still haunted by the voices of the jabberjays, which unfortunately the insects can’t drown out. After a while I rest my head against his shoulder. Feel his hand caress my hair.
The woods became our savior, and each day I went a bit farther into its arms. It was slow-going at first, but I was determined to feed us. I stole eggs from nests, caught fish in nets, sometimes managed to shoot a squirrel or rabbit for stew, and gathered the various plants that sprung up beneath my feet. Plants are tricky. Many are edible, but one false mouthful and you’re dead. I checked and double-checked the plants I harvested with my father’s pictures. I kept us alive. (x)
